EPS joins Allied Electric for impressive technician training event, FUSED 2.0

When: Friday, September 12th

Where: The Allied Electric HQ – 2503 Waldorf Ct NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544

The FUSED 2.0 event is a safety training day focused on the Fundamentals Uniting Safety Education and Development (FUSED). During this event Allied Electric technicians took a full day of classes focused on specific experience levels, and necessary job-site skills. They were trained by experts in pertinent areas such as: code changes, life safety requirements, and CPR. The event was divided into Journeyman and Apprentice focused sessions.

Kacey Jones from EPS delivered journeyman and apprentice session on fire alarm systems. The 101 apprentice level session focused on fire alarm devices and wiring basics and the 201 level journeyman session covered topics including trouble shooting and preparation for fire alarm panel programming. EPS security stresses the importance of training, continued education and being experts in our field. Life safety systems, such as fire alarm, are a delicate and critical piece of building infrastructure. We are committed to training, not only our employees, but other industry partners who share similar responsibilities.

In addition to education training, Allied Electric hosted a trade show for employees to shop at. A portion of the total employee spending at the trade show was matched by Allied Electric and donated to Degage Ministries in Grand Rapids.

Overall, FUSED 2.0 was a great success. The training sessions were valuable, the trade show was a hit, and there was a real sense of community amongst everyone in attendance. I would like to give a special thank you to EPS for participating in our event and for leading the fire alarm training for the day.  Their willingness to run a number of in depth classes was extremely helpful to our field staff and contributed greatly to our day of learning  and fun.
