Only a hop, skip and a jump north of EPS Security’s downtown Grand Rapids headquarters, the West Michigan Whitecaps call Fifth Third Ballpark home. The Whitecaps begin their 23rd season in spring 2016, and the 20th as a class A affiliate of the Major League Baseball Detroit Tigers. In the clubhouse, expectations are high for the team to repeat their 2015 Midwest League Championship. While the team continues to send great players onward to earn their way into the ‘Big Leagues’, the remaining players, staff, and organization work tirelessly to entertain and win for the fans in West Michigan.

Whitecaps PrimaryThe Whitecaps baseball organization continues to push the envelope when it comes to fan entertainment. For years, Fifth Third Ballpark has been well known as a creator of some of baseball’s wildest food and drink concoctions. Deep fried Nutella, Oreo churros, and the nationally renowned ‘Fifth Third Burger’ are just some of the eye-popping foodstuffs offered to hungry sports fans. If that does not hit the spot, the Whitecaps are rolling out a ‘Build Your Own Burger’ cart for those who require a bit more customization. Lastly, to wash it all down, an impressive and growing collection of sodas, beer, and other fan-favorite beverages are available throughout the concourse.

As the Whitecap’s fan-base continues to grow, the team has also found the need to expand attendee seating options. Throughout the stadium, the Whitecap’s staff have found new and exciting ways for fans to kick back and enjoy America’s favorite pastime. In 2016, expanded seating will include new ‘4Topp’ tables for small groups and more premium seating for those looking for that extra experience.

The changes in 2016 will also include increased safety measures for those enjoying the game in seats near the field. While some dedicated fans bring their best baseball glove for a chance at a souvenir pop-fly, rogue foul balls can be dangerous to those in the stands. To increase the safety of those near the field, the Whitecaps have extended safety netting to include the area above the dugouts. The safety measure will greatly decrease the risk of those sitting near the field when it comes to frequent foul balls and the occasional loose bat.

While the Whitecaps look to increase security and safety measures on the field, they have continued to trust EPS Security throughout the ballpark. For the majority of the Whitecap’s existence as West Michigan’s premiere baseball experience, EPS Security has been the provider of intrusion and security alarm services for the entire ballpark. With a staff of all-stars and a championship level of service, EPS Security is proud of the line-up it brings to its valued customers. Congratulations to the Whitecaps on 2015’s success and good luck in the upcoming season!
