Supporting the communities we serve is an important part of our business. Our employees are ambitious, community oriented individuals who enjoy being friendly and helpful neighbors. Throughout each year EPS employees and their families give graciously to local organizations and philanthropies with their time, effort, and donations. EPS also partners with local law enforcement, fire departments and other life safety organizations to educate and inform the community about the importance of safety.
Beyond the altruistic endeavors, EPS also provides a helping hand through sponsorship. The EPS team participates with schools, media affiliates and non-profits to promote positive activities for local families. EPS believes active participation is important to fostering a healthy community.
This summer EPS participated in a variety of special events, community programs, and employee activities. McGruff the Crime Dog helped our team give out nearly 3000 Safe Kids ID® fingerprinting kits during the very popular WOTV4 Maranda Park Parties throughout West Michigan. He also gave out hugs and high fives at the South Kent County National Night Out; a great event to support local law enforcement and promote safety within our communities. Lastly, our Traverse City branch acted as the presenting sponsor for the growing HEAT “Get Low and Go” teen fire safety event during the National Cherry Festival in July.
In addition to many other EPS sponsored events, our employees commit their personal time and effort to organize and participate on their own. In fact, for the last 6 years, EPS employees have been one of the largest groups in attendance for the Hospice of Michigan’s “Walk and Remember”. The event, in East Grand Rapids on the third Saturday morning of May, encourages community recognition for those who have suffered and those who have passed. In support of the continued participation by EPS employees, EPS has become a significant donor for the cause as well.
